This Monin butterscotch syrup is made using only the very finest natural ingredients with no artificial additives, resulting in an amazing flavour that can be used in a wide variety of different drinks. Monin syrup is popular for use in coffee, hot chocolate, cocktails, milkshakes, smoothies and more. This flavour does not contain nuts. A seductive blend of butter, brown sugar and vanilla. It is used widely for baking purposes and works perfectly in hot and cold drinks, or as a gourmet dessert topping.



Origin
Based on the popular, classic confectionery and well-known liqueur, Monin Butterscotch syrup was originally developed to satisfy demand in Australia. A nostalgic taste of a traditional sweetmeat, Monin Butterscotch delivers a moreish sweet buttery flavour. Butterscotch’s primary blend of butter and brown sugar is sometimes combined with cream, sugar, salt and vanilla and is often used in the form of a sauce or syrup as a dessert topping and in biscuits and cakes. Its name derives from the fact that it must be ‘scotched’ or cut into squares before hardening. First made in Doncaster in the UK, Parkinson’s Butterscotch is thought to be the original, dating back to 1817. It was advertised as “Royal Doncaster Butterscotch” and “The Queen’s Sweetmeat”, as it is by appointment to the Royal household. Perfect as a dreamy ice cream sundae topping, Monin Butterscotch syrup will also create sumptuous hot and cold dessert drinks

One of my favourite uses is to mix it with Monin Almond syrup in a whipped cream preparation. Try Monin Butterscotch in an espresso or a dessert preparation and you will be amazed !

Butterscotch Milkshake
• 30 ml Monin Butterscotch syrup
• 60 milk
• 2 slices of fresh banana
• 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream
• cocoa powder

Pour all ingredients into a blender cup. Cover up with ice cubes. Blend until smooth.
Pour into a cocktail glass. Top with cacao powder.
